Lewes Castle from the Paddock
Painted during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, this image is full of foliage and typical 'Lewesiana' styled houses. Shortly before painting this, Lewes Castle suffered structural damage to the rear of the monument.

Horses gallop amok on the South Downs
The sheer energy and determination of the horses galloping down a steep slope and passing through thickets, is captured in this remarkable painting. It's almost as if it is a textile cross stitch.
Detail and relief is provided by the old man's beard in the Hawthorn shrubbery.
Giclée print, 590 diameter. Paper 690mm x 690mm

The Lost Marbles
The abstract runs from ocean to land with all the bright colours of nature phasing into man's treacherous domain.

The Celebration
Hope, beauty and optimism, expressed in a braggadocio of colours. The wilderness is bosqued in vibrant energies. Beneath the waves, the oceans are suffering: micro-plastics and litter abound.

The Loving Couple
A portrait of a loving couple? When relationships suffer, or break down, there is a dissonance that is often hard to resolve. Words hurt, often spoken indiscriminately and we retreat into ourselves when they impinge on our ear. Communication is so vital to relationships of all kinds.
"Deep beneath our secrets, lies our desperate plea! How we need to be understood. How we long to be free."
(lyrics by Maxine Sheppard, © 1987)

One-o-clock,
two o-clock,
make a wish!
A child's game: "One, two, make a wish!" is a glimpse into the garden of your mind. All seems well, in the garden. Blow the seeded dandelion to tell the time and make a wish, for the 'macro' gardens of the world are suffering. The bees, the insect populations, hedgehogs, and birds, and that's just for starters.
